There are two important things to understand about container buildings, before you make a decision:

Shipping container houses are significantly cheaper to build than regular homes. They are very resource efficient and can be made to look like regular houses by combining several containers and adding other building materials.
Local laws will need to be checked to verify if this type of construction is allowed in your intended location. You will need a building permit to build or install a container house, and you’ll likely need a site plan in order to obtain the building permit. These vary by location so you will need to check with your local building permit office for regulations.

 The advantage of a container building is its longevity. The structure itself may be fire, wind and hurricane proof, and advantage here in Florida. With the proper primer and paint, and yearly maintenance, corrosion issues can be avoided.
